Say NO to Loud Celebrations – Protect Our Furry & Feathered Friends!

The Hidden Toll of Noise on Wildlife
Celebrations may feel joyful to us, but to wildlife, sudden blasts of sound are terrifying. Birds experience these explosions as life-threatening events. Many species—sparrows, pigeons, mynas—can suffer fatal heart stress when the noise is too close or too sudden.
During New Year celebrations last year, Dhaka experienced a heartbreaking tragedy: thousands of sparrows fell from the sky, overwhelmed by panic and shock. Loud sounds also cause adult birds to abandon their nests abruptly, leaving chicks cold, scared, and unprotected.
The noise lasts seconds.
The damage lasts a lifetime.

Our Pets Suffer in Silence Too
While wildlife faces threats outdoors, our pets are equally affected inside our homes. Dogs and cats have far more sensitive hearing than humans—and loud firecrackers can send them into extreme trauma.
Across Bangladesh, countless cases appear every year: trembling animals, hours of hiding, and even pets running away in blind panic. In Chattogram, a family searched for days after their dog escaped during 31st-night fireworks, terrified and confused.
For them, celebrations aren’t fun.
They’re frightening.
Choose Kindness: How We Can Celebrate Safely
Sound explosions don’t only harm animals—they also raise blood pressure, disrupt sleep, and can even damage hearing in children and the elderly. But there’s a peaceful alternative.
We can celebrate with beauty, not destruction.
✅ Silent fireworks
✅ Lanterns and eco-friendly lights
✅ Music and community gatherings
✅ Awareness campaigns and responsible celebrations
When we choose quieter traditions, we respect every living being—pets, birds, wildlife, and people.
Celebrations should bring joy, not suffering.
Let’s make kindness our loudest message.
